Black Swan was...transformative.
Melodrama done right, Natalie Portman's performance as a ballerina struggling with an undiagnosed mental disorder is masterful. The films production is equally excellent, with tight camerawork, a haunting score, smooth pacing, and a supporting cast that all work together seamlessly to create a captivating piece of cinema.
