Green Book was…decent.
On paper Green Book sounds like yet another formulaic film about race relations. In practice, standout performances from Mortensen and Ali elevate well-worn material into something that feels surprisingly genuine despite its familiarity. The film still fails to dive more than skin deep on the issues it addresses, relegating racism more to individual rather than systemic causes, but it manages to be wholly entertaining and emotional uplifting, nonetheless.
6/10 Dangerous sentiment.
